Castle Rock Snow Shoe Hare
DOB 2/13/15 polled

Sire: Castle Rock Chicago Peace
(Copper Penny ROF Calico Jack x GCH-ARMCH CRF Castle Rock Tuscan Sun 1*M *D VEEE 90)

Dam: GCH Castle Rock Flash Flood VEEE 90
(Castle Rock Tanzanite +*B x GCH Castle Rock Snownamie 2*M 4*D VEEE 90)

This bouncy little lady got her nickname- Bunny- before I could come up with her actual name. She's a spunky little thing, though the one time we took her to a show for the experience, she bounced and flipped a little too much like the animal she is named after. She's the only doe kid Flash has produced for us, but she seems to be holding up well under the weight of our expectations. I was very much looking forward to seeing how she freshened in 2017, but for no discernable reason, she did not, in fact freshen.

Castle Rock Moon Pie
DOB 3/13/15

Sire: Castle Rock Chicago Peace
(Copper Penny ROF Calico Jack x GCH-ARMCH CRF Castle Rock Tuscan Sun 1*M *D VEEE 90)

Dam: SGCH Castle Rock Moon Beam EEEE 92
(SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B x CH CRF Castle Rock Moon River )

Before she had her official name, we were calling this little lady Squirt- a name she earned by being the smallest (and only doe) kid in a set of quintuplets. She ended up spending some time in the house where we could more easily make sure her little belly got filled as often as possible so she could catch up to her littermates. She's a fiesty little thing, and can often be found hanging out with her BFF, Sugar Snow. Moon Pie has length of body, dairy character, and width between the hocks while on the move.

Castle Rock Western Hazelnut
DOB 03/27/15

Sire: Castle Rock Wild and Crazy Guy
(CRF Castle Rock Guy Noir +B x SGCH Castle Rock Wildfire VEEE 90)
Dam: GCH Castle Rock Ghost Pine EEEE 91 3*D
(Rosasharn's TL Sitka Spruce +*S x ARMCH Castle Rock Sky Lupine 2*M 2*D)

Hazel is a quiet little doe who tends to stay at the back of the crowd. Not unfriendly, just too laid back to come forward and ask for attention, and she gets along so well with everyone it is somewhat easy to forget that she's even there. She's a very balanced doe, with a pleasing profile, and reminds me a good deal of her dam's dam, Sky.

Castle Rock Sun Maid
DOB 02/08/16

Sire: Castle Rock Triumph *B
(SG Fairlea Barnaby Rudge +*B x GCH AGS CRF Castle Rock Tesla 2*M)
Dam: Castle Rock Sunsplash
(Castle Rock Black Oak x GCH Castle Rock Sun Sapphire 1*M)

I know I am going to pay for not getting many of my 2016 to shows as juniors- this lady took two separate photo shoots to even get this awkward pose because she is just not at all used to doing something that wasn't her idea to begin with. She really does have some angulation irl, and there are so many things I appreciate about her- she has wonderful dairy character, a wide rump from thurl to thurl (also flatter in person), and a really good front end. While she is named Sun Maid, after a rose, her color makes me think more of the brand of raisins, which led me to calling her Raisin, which somehow morphed into Rey. She's exceedingly sweet...until you try to get her to pose for a photograph!

Dam: Castle Rock La Jamais Contente VVVE 89
(Sire: SG Fairlea Barnaby Rudge *S x GCH CRF Castle Rock Tesla 2*M 5*D VVEE 89)

Very dairy little doe, with lots of stretch and a really high escutchon.

Castle Rock Renault Twizy
DOB 2/11/16

Sire: Castle Rock Moonraker
(SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B x CH CRF Castle Rock Moon River )
Dam: GCH CRF Castle Rock Tesla 2*M 5*D VVEE 89
(Woodhaven Farms Latigo x SG-ARMCH Lost Valley TB Infinity 4*D)

This little doe was the most intense kid- I never got why people got weirded out by blue eyes until we had this girl and she would just STARE at you with an intensity of one who is examining your weaknesses to exploit them later. As she has aged it seems that maybe she's looking to see if you are worthy of her affections, because she's now settled into being a great combination of smart and goofy. Twizy won her age class multiple times, and has great manners in the show ring so far. She's long and level on the move, with really nice blending, and a long, wide rump.

Castle Rock Sun Goddess

Sire: Castle Rock Moonraker
(SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B x CH CRF Castle Rock Moon River )
Dam: GCH CRF Castle Rock Tuscan Sun 1*M
(Woodhaven Farms Latigo x TX Twincreeks WDF Sunsprite)

There's no real easy way to shorten Sun Goddess into a good barn name, and this girl just looks like a Gabby to me, so that's what we went with. Another one of those kiddings where I hadn't orginally planned on keeping one of the kids, but this girl gave me a look when she was just a few days old, and I found myself saying "okay, then, you can stay". She's long, smoothly blended, and elegant with a really nice bone pattern, and really good width and depth already. She has a high arched escutcheon, and walks with lots of width between the hocks.

Castle Rock Hail Storm
DOB 03/10/16

Sire: SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B *S
(Castle Rock Tanzanite +*B*S x SGCH-ARMCH CRF Castle Rock Alum Root 1*M 3*D VEEE 91)
Dam: GCH Castle Rock Snownamie 4*D VEEE 90
(Castle Rock Harvest Moon ++B *S x SGCH CRF Castle Rock Blizzard 1*M 3*D VEEE 91)

Haily was a tiny kid and even as a yearling, she still seems to be a little on the small side. She's definitely an example of needing to be patient and knowing that this set of genes takes a while to come into its own. She's an elegant little doe with really nice depth and width for her age, who moves around on a nice set of feet and legs.

Castle Rock Elsie
DOB 4/06/16

Sire: Camanna OMF Jimson Weed
(Old Mountain Farm Frankincense x CH Camanna CT Jocelyn)

Dam: CH Castle Rock Leucosia EEEV 91
(SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B x GCH Castle Rock Siren Song 3*M 3*D VEEE 90)

All of my does have some sort of naming theme, but I just couldn't settle on a name in her dam's theme for this kid. With the exception of that large moonspot on her side, she looks almost exactly like her dam did at her age, and I had settled on calling her "LC" (as in "Leucosia Clone"), which ends up sounding like Elsie, which somehow stuck. She looks a little awkward in this picture, but her dam did too at the same age, and now she's lovely and dairy and comes into the milk room very full and ready to work every day, so I'll just have to wait and see if this doe follows in her hoofsteps when she freshens.

Castle Rock Penny Lane
DOB 4/13/16

Sire: Caprine Acres HS Cooper
(Caprine Acres SG Hott Shott x CH Kaapio Acres AD Carina EEEE 92)

Dam: SGCH CRF Castle Rock Penny Wise 1*M 3*D VVEE 90
(Castle Rock Guy Noir +B x Castle Rock Money Penny 2*D)

Very stretchy junior doe we had to wait three years for, as Penny Wise went on a bit of a buck-producing bender. I appreciate watching this doe move around our pasture- very graceful and level on the move. I had hoped to get her into the show ring as a yearling, but other circumstances prevented that. She looks so much like a Cleveland daughter that if her two sisters hadn't been born with wattles (Cooper is our only buck who has them), I would have thought I wrote down the wrong buck on the breeding page.

Castle Rock La Nina
DOB 4/15/16

Sire: Camanna OMF Jimson Weed
(Old Mountain Farm Frankincense x CH Camanna CT Jocelyn)

Dam: CH Castle Rock Polar Vortex VEEE 91
(SG Castle Rock Cleveland Sage +*B x GCH Castle Rock Snownamie 2*M 4*D VEEE 90)

I love the length of body on this Vortex kid, and she seems to take after her dam in wanting to be in the middle of the action. She went to her first show at under two months of age and was remarkably well behaved, though much too small to be of much competition in the AOP show.

Castle Rock Glacial Moraine
DOB 5/1/16

Sire: Caprine Acres HS Cooper
(Caprine Acres SG Hott Shott x CH Kaapio Acres AD Carina EEEE 92)

Dam: GCH-ARMCH CRF Castle Rock Black Ice 2*M 4*D EEEE 92
(Castle Rock Guy Noir +B x SGCH CRF Castle Rock Blizzard 1*M 3*D VEEE 91)

So far, we are quite happy with this very dairy, but not overly refined Black Ice daughter. She has a good front end, with very straight legs, nice angulation to the rear legs.
